Frequently Asked Questions

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) works by having you breathe near-100% oxygen inside a chamber where the air pressure is higher than normal. This increased pressure allows much more oxygen to dissolve directly into your bloodstream so it can reach areas with poor circulation more effectively. Higher oxygen levels in tissues can support the body’s natural healing processes by reducing swelling, helping fight certain infections, and promoting tissue repair and recovery.

HBOT works primarily as an anti-inflammatory treatment. There are a wide range of conditions it can help with, especially conditions that tend to improve with greater oxygenation, tissue repair, nerve and muscle regeneration, and greater oxygen-rich blood flow.

For more information on conditions HBOT can help with, please click HERE to see our research and resource page.

HBOT can support overall health and wellness by increasing oxygen delivery throughout the body, which may help your cells produce energy more efficiently and support recovery after physical or mental stress. Higher oxygen levels can also aid the body’s natural repair processes, support healthy circulation, and help calm inflammation—factors that influence how you feel day to day. Many people report benefits like improved recovery, better sleep, mental clarity, and increased resilience, though results vary based on your goals, health status, and how consistently you do sessions.

Sessions are 60 minutes each.

You can fill out the Client Intake PDF (below the FAQ's section) or use our Contact Us page to connect with us. From there you will be connected with a HyperHealth Team Member who will assist you with the intake process and scheduling your first appointment.

Before your first HBOT session, you’ll complete a brief intake to review your health history and make sure HBOT is safe for you. Wear comfortable clothing. Let us know about any medications, implants, recent surgeries, or if you have sinus/ear congestion so we can help you equalize pressure comfortably. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, use the restroom beforehand, and expect your first visit to include an orientation on what the chamber feels like (similar to changes in pressure on an airplane). If you have any questions or anxiety, tell us—we’ll walk you through everything step by step.

While the typical average rate per session is typically $150 - $200 an hour, our rate is on the lower end at $150 a session.

Our Optimize Your Health Program has 10, 20, and 30 consecutive day packages aimed at maximizing symptom reduction. Ask our Team Member for more details!

We currently do not accept insurance. However, the following conditions are covered by most insurance plans, including national programs like Medicare and Medicaid, but typically require prior authorization. The list of conditions is subject to change as new evidence becomes available, and some conditions may not be covered by insurance at all. If you have a doctors order for HBOT for any of the following conditions, you will need to follow up with your insurance provider regarding your plans coverage.

  • Acute carbon monoxide intoxication
  • Gas embolism
  • Carbon monoxide and cyanide poisoning
  • Gas gangrene
  • Selected aerobic and anaerobic soft tissue infections
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Intracranial abscess
  • Management of fungal disease
  • Radiation injury to the tissue
  • Failed skin grafts and flaps
  • Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia
  • Crush injuries
  • Severe anemia (when blood transfusions are not feasible)

HBOT accelerates wound healing by flooding the body with extra oxygen under pressure, which raises oxygen levels in the blood and drives more oxygen into injured tissue—even when circulation is limited. That oxygen helps reduce swelling, supports immune cells in fighting infection, and fuels key repair steps like collagen production (the “scaffolding” for new tissue) and the growth of new tiny blood vessels (angiogenesis). The result is a better environment for the wound to close, stronger tissue formation, and improved healing in stubborn or slow-healing wounds.

Yes, HBOT is generally very safe when it’s provided by trained staff with proper screening and protocols. The most common side effects are mild and temporary, like ear pressure/discomfort (similar to flying) or sinus fullness; less commonly, people notice temporary vision changes after multiple sessions. Rare risks include oxygen toxicity, lung barotrauma, or claustrophobia-related distress. These are uncommon, and we reduce risk by reviewing your medical history, adjusting pressure slowly, coaching you on ear-clearing, and monitoring you throughout the session. If you have congestion, lung conditions, or a history of certain ear/sinus issues, let us know so we can tailor your plan safely.

Utilizing our method of oxygen administration it is vurtually impossible to overdose on oxygen.

The most common issues in kids are the same as adults—ear or sinus pressure discomfort (like flying) and occasional anxiety/claustrophobia.

Research with children shows HBOT can improve some brain-injuries and symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Autism.

Yes, HBOT is generally safe for older adults, and many people in their 60s, 70s, and beyond complete treatment without issues when they’re properly screened and monitored.

Hyperbarics provides a boost which counteracts the signs of aging. Research also indicates that hyperbaric oxygenation slows Apoptosis (cell death).

The main thing to know is that we’ll review medical history carefully (especially lung conditions like COPD/asthma, heart failure, history of ear/sinus problems, recent surgery, and certain medications), because those factors can affect pressure tolerance and safety.

The most common side effects are mild and temporary—ear pressure/sinus discomfort and occasional fatigue. We can slow the pressurization rate and coach ear-clearing to keep it comfortable. Throughout the session, staff monitor you closely and adjust the plan as needed.
